The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

'Name Autocorrect' object names in a split database

Asked by Evolve2k in Access Architecture/Design, Microsoft Access Database, Access Coding/Macros

I have an Access 2000 database which I have been progressively been developing in our office over a number of years.

The database has long been split into a frontend (forms, queries, modules etc) and a backend with just the tables.

One of the feature I lost on doing the split was access to the 'Name AutoCorrect' feature (A description of the feature is here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa139941(office.10).aspx)

Now that my database has been around some time, my earlier sins are being exposed, ie before I new better I had spaces in all my object names ie instead of the neat 'PaymentFrequency' I used the long winded names such as 'Payment Frequency' (with a space), there are spaces in object names all over the place. My users table is currently called 'employees' and the UserID field is currently called 'Employee Code' (with a space), Yuk!  SuperExpert, please help me!

My database has many objects, with many of the older objects not following the tidy naming conventions I use these days. How can I achive 'name autocorrect' where my tables are in a separate backend. I read once that this feature stopped working once you split the database, but I really need to do a tidy up of my naming, how could I acheive naming autocorrection with my split database?

Thanks
