The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

eliminate columns in database

Asked by verpit in Access Architecture/Design, Databases Miscellaneous, Microsoft Access Database

Attached is a database file by mbizup - The request was to be able to add a new record from the top as opposed the the bottom.  He did a great job with this.

In short, I am trying to get this database more closely reflect the easy entry shown in the attached graphic.  Any progress to to the entitled question or to any other listed item will result in an accept where the additional items will be asked one-at-a-time.

The NumberField seems to require a manual entry as does today's date.  Is it possible to not have to enter either or see any column in the form other than the task itself?

additional items list (I will re-ask the following questions one-by-one, one-at-a-time)
Small Window - Make the form come up in as small of a window as possible.
Window on top - Make the form remain 'on top' of other windows.
Timer - Allow highlighting a task or pressing enter upon entering a task have the automatic effect of starting a timer for the task (shown above but not beside the task) and move that task to the top of the list.
Completed button - Devise a 'completed' radio button to remove each completed task shown in the entry form.

These are the properties that make this form work in it's current state.
Designing your own forms from scratch gives you much more flexibility in the layout.
    - The form is in Continuous Forms view with unbound textboxes in the form's header for data entry.
    - Default View
    - Allow Additions (this "hides" the new record at the bottom of the form")
    - The form's Recordsource property
    - The code in the click events of both command buttons, which adds the new record to the table, requeries the form to show the new data, and clears the textboxes for a new record.
