The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Property Not Found / The object doesn't contain the Automation object

Asked by wsturdev in Access Coding/Macros

Tags: , ,

I have an app that I am converting from Access 2003 to Access 2007.  It has a main form with a few sub forms.  On one particular sub form, when I click one particular button, I get the error "The object doesn't contain the Automation object 'Name.'"  When I close the form using any method, I get an error 3270 "Property Not Found".

I suspect these might be related.

I have placed breakpoints on every handler on every form involved.

In the case of the first error, the error occurs as soon as I click on the button, but before any breakpoint is hit.  When I click OK, processing continues.

In the case of the second error, no breakpoints are hit either, and if I click OK, the form continues to close.

I have tried using a FormError handler, but I get no more information.
I have tried importing a new copy of the form from the original 2003 MDB.
I have scoured every query and every bit of code looking for 'Name', and cannot find it in any way involved with any of the forms where I get the error.
Since this is an app that interacts with a SQL Server back end, I have also looked for usages of 'Name' in all views, tables, sprocs and triggers.  I cannot find it in anything that would even be remotely related to my forms in this app.

What else can I look for?
