The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Populating form textfield from selected record in a popup form

Asked by SherryG in Access Forms, Access Coding/Macros

Tags: , , ,

I have an Access 2007 form.  On the form I have a ClientID field.  I would like to have a Select Client button that the user will click and open a Select Client form.  On that form, I would have client ID, FirstName and LastName fields and Search and Add buttons.  I would like to have the user search for a client/record and if found in the database, then click a button to close the form and have the selected Client ID transferred from the Select Client form to my main form.  If the client is not found on the Select Client Form, the user will click the Add Client button to open an Add Client form.  When that Add Client form is submitted I want the Client ID to populate the Client ID field on my main form.

I have the three forms built.  I am having trouble with the following:

1.Creating the Search button on the Select Client form.  I know I have done this before in 2003, but cannot seem to recall how I did it.

2. Figuring out how when the user clicks the Save button on the Select Client form to write the ClientID back to the ClientID field in the main form.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
