The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to validate info on a form before submitting?

Asked by bridge3196 in Access Forms, Microsoft Access Database, Access Reports

Tags: , ,

Please excuse me as I have very little, actually no exp. with Microsoft Access.  This seems like it would be an easy question for you experts to answer, but a EXTREMELY difficult one for me.  I thought I would ask first, instead of wasting an entire day trying to figure it out.

Here it goes:

2 part question.

1.  In a form, I am asking a user for their email address.  I am also asking them to reenter it in another field to make sure they entered it right.  First, how do I make sure they entered a valid email address?  Ex:  someone@company.com

And then, how do I have the first one compare to second to make sure they match?

2.  I have many fields on my form as well as a submit button that runs a macro.  I would like to make sure that something is entered into each field or a message box will pop up with a message that says something like, "Please enter your last name" or "Opps, you forgot to enter your phone number" or "Email address is not valid".

To wrap it up, the form wouldn't be able to be submitted until all fields have been filled out.

Hopefully this will help.  My form contains the following fields:

firstName
lastName
address1
leadcity
state
zip
email
reenterEmail
carsHousehold
driversHousehold
ownHome (drop down box, with a yes/no option)
insuredBy

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much in advance.Start Free Trial
