The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. finding a value from a lookup table

Ok so I have a form that currently has all the numbers on it i need to perform the "Look up" that I want to do. so here is the nuts and bolts of it. this for basicly came into existance because there were some folks that used the database and also used an excel spread sheet to come up with different figurs and allow them to prioritize based on a quantitative score for a project. so now there is another piece to this.
they want me to incorporate a couple of things from the excel that i have no clue how to do in access. Since access will not do vlookup like in excel I am not sure how to do it.
In excel what happens is there is a number that i have and based on this number it gives another number to rank it. so for instance if the number is 50 the excel function goes and looks and a sheet called ValidationRanges and looks for the number in one column then returns the number in the next column as the score in this case it would be 2
the excel formula looks like this:
=IF(CC9="",0,VLOOKUP(CC9,ValidationRanges!W$7:X$17,2,TRUE))

and the cells x7-x17 have the following number in them :

and x7-x17 have

so for instance if the number it looks up is 80 it will return a 5 because 80 is between 100 and 50 so it returns the value for the 50 because its the lesser value. but also the formula say if the value is null to make it a 0 or if it is less than 0 make it a zero. can some one help me with this?Start Free Trial
