Count in Access

Asked by lefty431 in Access Reports, Microsoft Access Database, SQL Query Syntax

Tags: access, count

I have a report in Access and I have a field in my table that lists a value.  In this case it is a year.

there are about 6000 records but only not all of them have the "year" filled in.  I want to count how many of the records have the year filled in.

I am able to do this but the problem I am having is that it also counting what appears to be counting a field even if it has a blank space.  how can I make it only look for 2007 or 2006..  what ever value I put in there?
I have been working around this issue by deleting the column in the table editior and then re adding it.  this ensures that all of the fields are empty but sometimes users click on records and put in blank spaces.  then it throughs the stats off.
