The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Sub Report and a Pass through query

Asked by gardmanIT in Access Reports, MS SQL Server, SQL Query Syntax

Tags: , ,

Hi,

I have a report thats source is set to a pass through query.. I need to make this report a sub of another report. a short while ago I found that this is not possible.. which i find ultimately infuriating, considering you cant set the source of a report to a recordset either (with reagrds to efficiency form SQL).. catch 22 somewhere!

My main report rpt_order_header has the following info
Order number, customer, delivery_code
213, 113454, 4

Sub report sub_rpt_order_text
c_Text, sort_order, customer, delivery_code

The main report has multiple orders in it and the sub report has the text for all those orders. As I used an Select * from tbl_cText where Cust_account IN (213,212,211,210) etc etc etc in a pass through query..

I was planning on using the master child link to filter the sub report and show teh customer text on each order that is relevanty linked with customer & delivery_code...

After an hour of wondering for the life of me why the sub report was returning nothing I found out that it was due to sub reports not linking when the source is a pass through query!!!

Is there another way to take the whole pass through query but only show on each page the c_text in that PTquery that is relevant to the order its printing/vieiwing?

Thanks in advance
