Color MS Access Reports will only print in Black & White

Asked by Access57 in Access Reports, Microsoft Office Suite

Tags: Microsoft, Office, Access, VBA Code for Printing Access Reports

I can not get MS Access to print Reports in color - it always prints in black & white (gray tone).

The reports are in color in Design View and Print Preview; but the hard copy is black & white.

I have tried this on several color printers (HP 3800N & Xerox Phaser 8400) with the same result.  The printers work correctly in other programs (like Excel, Internet Explorer, Powerpoint, Word, etc.), so I do not think it is the configuration, print drivers, or printers.

And I can "print" to the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, create the file, view it in color, and then print in color; so I believe that MS Access is capable of color output.  But I can not print directly from MS Access to a color printer in color.

I have gone through the Report attributes and I can not find anything that controls the color mode of the printer.

(There is a similar post for printing color PDF in MS Access, but that solution does not solve my problem)

Thanks!
