The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Want user to specify number of lines for a memo field on a report, but collapse if null or actual lines less than requested lines

I have a memo field that often contains many, many lines of information, but also often has a few lines or is null

I want to give the user the option of printing 0 lines, 5, 10, 15, 20, or all.

So I set the height of the field in the Detail_Format event

Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
     Me.DescriptionNoQuote.Height = Forms!frmreports.txtNotesFieldHeight 'from a user drop down
End Sub

I've fiddled with CanGrow and CanShrink, but I get wacky results - see attachments.

What happens is that even though the height of the field is properly set (and dynamically), the other fields dont recognize the new height of the field.

So how can I allow the user the option of printing a user-selected number of lines?

My issue is setting the CanGrow, CanShrink. I think the field height is being properly set.

The solution Im using was proposed in  http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Development/MS_Access/Access_Reports/Q_23380200.html  but I wasnt able to test it out at the time.
