The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

? task database enhancements

Asked by verpit in Access Reports

My initial goal with this task database was to provide an easy way to record minute-by-minute task entry and reporting of that information.  I think I have that due to the fine work of many of the folks here.

Now, I would basically like to pretty it up a bit and make it super easy for use day-to-day.  Next week, I plan on implementing what I have and implementing further enhancements along the way.

Attached are fixes/enhancements that I think are still needed at this stage.  Please feel free to contribute/modify the change list as needed and provide your thoughts.

Once someone chimes in with something they think they can fix, I'll ask the specific question recommended by you. Just tell me in the post or in change list, what is appropriate to ask for and I will break it down however is required and ask the question that way.

In a further attempt to follow the "rules" precisely, please understand that if this post in and of itself is a violation of a "any specifically posted rule", please "quote the specific" (not just a link) and if I am truly in violation of any rule, I will attempt a correction and/or request deletion of this post.

BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE!

If you work for someone else:
I ask you to think about the times you have felt micro-managed.  Why not embrace the opportunity to show off your work ethic with a well formulated report containing your efforts.   Great minds, great workers don't like to be micro-managed and that includes me.  It takes time (focus) away from more important things and does so several times per day/week/month.  Whether we like it or not though, micro-management is back.  It is a growing trend and we as today's geniuses, "must" find some way to deal with it.

If you own a corporation or work for yourself:
Think about how your customers will feel when you report every time you made a phone call and exactly how long it took.  Many customers would hire you just on the basis of your obvious willingness to hold yourself to a high standard.  That type work ethic and the ability to consistently prove it is worth serious $$  in my book.Start Free Trial
