The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Microsoft Access report based on a series of checkboxes stored in a table

Asked by jainesteer in Access Reports, Visual Basic Programming, Access Forms

I am trying to design a report that is called from an Access 2003 form. The db is designed to hold information on artists and their interests. On the form, they have an option of selecting up to 8 different artforms all stored in separate fields in a table with a PK called portfolioid and FK called addressid; all artist surnames are stored in another table called addresses with a PK addressid.

I want the user to open the report with the option of being able to select either a single artform or otherwise all of the 8 options. I want the headings of the reports to show the artform but I am not sure how to pass this over, then I want all artists listed under each section that they belong to.

Eg Artist 1 has interest in sculpture, drawing and other
Artist 2 has interest in drawing and painting
Artist 3 has interest in photography

So I was wanting the user to be able to select the interest, say sculpture and to have artist 1 details listed
If the user selected drawing they would have a report with artist 1 and 2 showing
Ideally I would like the user to select the artform as checkboxes on a separate form (so that they could make any combination that they wanted) and to have the separate list generated and then as a "distinct" mailing group as a separate part on the report.

I am reasonably ok at developing reports, but this one has me in a bit over my head.

Help is REALLY appreciated.Start Free Trial
