Morning all,
I have the pleasure of a system upgrade that has been thrown at me with one days notice. 3 servers, 50 workstations to roll out.
I am deploying by pxe boot and paragon deployment server, a piece of software that I have used countless times and find it very efficent and effective
HOWEVER the workstations are Optiplex 755's and the network adapter (intel) is not detected by the linux distro that is booted at pxe bootime.
I have an updated driver from Intel for this adapter for linux however my issue is, how do I insert it in, give that it needs to be compiled with kernel-devel for the paragon distro.
I can access a bash terminal within the distro, it is using a 2.6 kernel but does not have any compilers or kernel devel available.
is it possible to compile it with a full distro and then simply transfer the module across?
OR failing that, does anyone know of a deployment software compatible with optiplex 755 w/intel nic that i can get hold of right now?
thanks in advance
