Hi
We are trying to disable the "spell as you type" function for Mind Manager 7 due to educational reasons and technical problems with crashes and lock ups.
Deploying to about 300 student PC's but would like the option to be able to disable the spell as you type function during this installation rather than having to manually disable this (which might not work anyway as settings may be reset on a per student login basis).
We are using a combination of reg keys and batch files for deployment as per the large scale deployment guide but cant find :
1) If it is even possible to do this
2) How to do this if possible.
Have emailed Mindjet technical support but the reponse was not even related to my question as above.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mindjet got back to us and gave us the reg key to disable spelling as you type. This can also be done by manually disabling spelling as you type and then checking the registry for the correct location.

I probably misunderstood your question: I assumed that you already knew the registry key and the question was how to propagate it along with the installation - which is what I answered. For the future, you usually can easily find registry keys responsible for particular settings by applying changed setting while monitoring registry writing operations by sysinternals' regmon. This applies to any software, not only mind manager.

You can write script with these reg keys etc, and specify it as logon script in group policy. The script should begin with checking if Mind Manager 7is already installed, and this patch is not yet applied.
Also, if Mind Manager 7 is MSI file, you can create so called Transform with "amendments" to the installation. Then you can deploy MM7 with this transform as one installation

as a sidenote - often when I'm considering entering a contract (generally; may be software purchase, or anything else), I contact company's tech support with some question. What I see is usually far more revealing about their competence (and therefore about their product I'm considering) than their polished website (made for them by 3rd party web designer) or their sales talk.
