How to deploy MS Office 2007 over domain to remote locations

I need to somehow auto deploy MS Office 2007 with SP1 to 170 remote locations in the next few months. All system are running Windows XP Pro SP3. There is only 1 computer at each location that needs the install. They currently have Open Office installed. I would like to come up with a solution to somehow automatically uninstall it before installing Office 2007. The locations are all spread out over a few hundred mile radius but are all on our network and login to our domain. The speed of the remote locations internet connection ranges from  as slow as 128k to 768k. Most are 768k circuits. We have enough servers and bandwidth at our main location to push out install but would probably only do 5-10 a night. Right now, the remote location computers are locked down somewhat using Ready State but will probably remove and go with straight group policies very soon. If possible, I don't want to have to purchase additional software to get job done unless it is very cheap. I have researched using group policies to deploy but seems like it is not supported by Microsoft anymore or not recommened?

Yes, they are all on the same network. SP1 is slipstreamed into the install disc. I was reading up on using PsExec but says that it can trigger antivirus software when it executes. We currently use eTrust Threat Management on all systems. I will have to setup test lab in our office to test  the options that I have been offered thus far. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
