Browse All TopicsHello,
We own the entire Ghost solution Suite 2.5. I just completed the PXE boot setup process as outlined by Symantec. The PXE boot seems to work except when it gets to loading the B57.DOS file it fails; it says: BAD or MISSING FILE: B57.DOS. This is obviously a Broadcom driver which I just downloaded from their website. I have the config.sys, protocol.ini and command.com set properly. Im not sure why its failing. The file is in the NET directory as it should be and the path seems correct. If anyone has some information, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.

Let me clarify my problem&While using Symantec Deploy Center, I setup a PXE boot using the following document from Symantec: http://service1.symantec.c
When I completed all required steps (including creating the VFD), I boot from a client computer to test the PXE boot. It starts to PXE boot and I see the Network Boot menu option which I created according to the instructions from Symantec. I select the Network Boot option and it gains an IP address (probably from the universal PXE driver), then it starts to run the config.sys, command.com, protocol.ini and autoexec.bat. During boot, I receive an error message which states: BAD or MISSING FILE: B57.DOS. As we all know, B57.dos is the NDIS driver for the Broadcom Gigabit network adapter. This is where Im lost. I dont know why its failing at this file. The file is there, its in the correct location. Yes, I have downloaded the newest version, and downloaded it multiple times to ensure it was not corrupt. Does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening? Please let me know. I very much appreciate any assistance. Thank you.
Ok, I think we're getting closer. I selected option B and did rename it to b57$ for the protocol.ini file. Does this mean that the file in the net directory needs to be renamed to b57$ (that's the source file)? If so, what should I do with the config.sys file which this file is also named b57.dos? Thank you - I really appreciate your time.
