I'm not seeing a link to the drivers in your post.

Browse All TopicsI have been using Windows Server 2008 with the Windows Deployment Service and have rolled out WinXP SP3 images to over 500 systems from several different manufacturer with good success. However I have a hundred or so Asus Z91N that have Realtek 8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC and these units keep failing to load the WDS Client (Boot.wim from Windows Server 2008 SP1).
The error I get is "WDS Client: An error occurred while starting networking. There was a failure while installing the network card driver for your machine..."
As I understand it, the Boot.wim is a Windows PE 2.0x mini-Vista install so I figured I needed to fined Vista drivers for the NIC. Of course, Asus does not have Vista drivers for the Asus Z91N.
I have looked all over for a Vista driver for the RTL8139/810x family so I can inject it into the Boot.wim but have not had any luck finding one.
If I cannot find a workable Vista driver for the RTL8139/810x, is there a way to make a boot image for WDS running on Windows 2008 that uses Windows XP rather than Vista Windows PE?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

hhaywood000,
The driver didn't make any difference but as it turned out, the issue was with the memory module of the test unit I was working with. I rpelaced the 512MB SODIMM in the unit and everyting started working.
I wil go ahead and giv eyou the points for your effort. Finding Vista drivers for the RTL8139 is very difficult.
Thank,
Dave
