We are wanting to get started using MDT 2010. At current, we are using a scripted windows build and SMS 2003 for software deployments. I have gotten some experience with a small test group of deploying a sysprepped image I built using imagex. The goal is to use MDT 2010 to lite-touch deploy Windows 7 64-bit by the end of November. I have a few questions:
1) What is a good guide for setting up MDT?
2) Does MDT 2010 require a dedicated server or can it just be a network share with the deployment toolkit loaded on each administrator's machine?
3) Once I get MDT 2010 completely up and running, would it be difficult for me to integrate it with SCCM 2007 for zero-touch deployments? At current, I have SCCM 2007 installed on a Windows 2008 Virtual Server, which has been put on the sideline for this project of building these machines .

MDT Doesn't require its own server and doesn't take much processing power. It does start to take up disk space though as you start adding multiple applications, OS etc. I think it can be integrated with SCCM at a later date but i'm not 100%. All MDT info is held within the deployment share so is easy to backup and move.
