Reference to another doxygen project

I have a doxygen project and want references to a second doxygen project.
For example I have some datatypes that I use in the first doxygen project that are defined in the second project.
With the generated html I would like these datatypes to be clickable and that you would come to the other projects documentation.

We currently use Doxygen 1.5.4, but if its solvable in an newer version we could consider upgrading.
