Browse All TopicsHi,
I am trying to connect to 'Visual Source Safe' from remote location using VPN connection. I keep getting error message that 'unable to open the login file \\servername\Development\S
when I look at the properties of the folder, I have full control and permission for all... The users on the remote location can connect to VSS using my account.
I am using the same username that is used for VPN connection. The server recognizes my usrname because when I use a wrong username, it says that username not found.
Others at the other side have ran out of idea and I am not sure what to do on my side to get it working.
Thanks in advance

I'll start off telling you that I don't know that much about Visual Source Safe. I was searching EE for a solution to the same error I was getting this past week. I resolved it today by doing a couple things. (which one was the solution?....I don't know)
ourceCode\ Data\logge din directory as described below. archive/16 2/6-50-162 5975.shtm
You can manually reset the permissions on the \\servername\Development\S
http://www.msdner.com/dev-
I also opened Visual Source Safe Administrator...then click on tools -->options --> project rights --> then check mark 'enable rights and assignments commands'.
You may have to restart your computer for the changes to stick.
Hope this helps
