Checked in files full of rubbish on get

I have just checked out a VS2003 project from VSS and a couple of the files seem to be full of encryption or compression artefacts.  I have attached a snippet below to show you what I mean.  

Is there anything that can be done about this or will I have to just copy the original file off my colleges machine?
