how to uninstall and remove the Source Safe source control provider
I've adopted a computer from a previous developer who installed Source safe 6 on the machine. I uninstalled Source Safe and I'm still getting an error when I load a visual studio project. I do not want source safe on this computer but the uninstall obviously left something which produces the following error:
There was a failure while initializing the Microsoft Visual SourceSafe source control provider. You cannot use this provider to perform source control operations.
How do I get rid of this message/error and wipe the computer clean of source safe.

2 things,
1. Go into your options under tools in VS and goto the Source Control Section.Select None
2. If you are opening a project that once was in source control I believe there is .vss file that needs to be deleted from the project directory.
