Subversion SVN , how to set the proxy at SVN client

Dear experts,

I m using TortoiseSVN to connect to a network SVN repository. At one place is ok, but at other always got rejected. The error something like this

PROPFIND of '/svn/myrepo/trunk':could not connect to server (https://W.X.Y.Z)

I guess, there is some related to the network. Because at "other" place that failed , I would need to configure a proxy in my browser in order to connect to internet.

How to configure the proxy for TortoiseSVN here?

Hello isuhendro,

If you are using windows client then settings->network. If it is shell integrated then right click on any file and you will find torotise svn context menu ... expand it and get to settings.

hi sunnycoder, you're right thanks.

but, actually i still not solved my problem, just change the error message as below

Error PROPFIND of '/playground': Could not resolve hostname 'http://xxx.xxx.xxx: The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved fro http://yyy.yyy.yyy


http://xxx.xxx.xxx is the PROXY
http://yyy.yyy.yyy is target repository.

But i checking using internet browser, I could browse to http://yyy.yyy.yyy  using the same proxy.

This is a windows socket error

Valid name, no data record of requested type.

    The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for. The usual example for this is a host name-to-address translation attempt (using gethostbyname or WSAAsyncGetHostByName) which uses the DNS (Domain Name Server). An MX record is returned but no A recordindicating the host itself exists, but is not directly reachable.

Verify if the SVN site is up. If it is then make sure your connection is not being blocked by the firewall at your local machine or at the client site. You will have to contact network administrator for this.
