Sending email from another email address in an email template

Tags: Microsoft, CRM, v4
I have email templates that are set up but I want to send them from support@mydomain.com vs the user that is logged in.  
Every time I tried to do it I am not allowed to change the send as address.

this is to stop spamming.
many ISPs do not allow users to send emails from another address other than the one they have setup for you.

It is to use the CRm to send updates to customers and partners about network maintenance that will happen.  We are VERY sensitive about spam and dont condone it.  But...in thsi case we need to send from support@ourdomain.com as opposed to a specific user because we dont want one person getting all the replies.  :)

Heya,

So the questions are do you want to send these emails in an ad hoc fashion or via workflow ?

Although the basis is still the same. You would start by creating a queue for your Support Email address and configure your email router to handle the outgoing email for this queue.

If you are just going to send them as ad hoc emails you would then create a new activity -> Email and then change the from person to a Queue (by choosing Queue's from the dropdown) and then choose your support queue. You would then complete the rest of the email in the the normal manner. I you have a template that you need to use you click on the Insert Template button in the Email Toolbar.

via Workflow you would just create a new workflow with a send email component and you can then create the email or use the template.

PS If you use the queue you can also enable inbound email tracking on your support address so that any responses come into the queue in crm and can be actioned.

I think I may have asked the question incorrectly:
What I am trying to do is...once a Lead is converted from a Lead to an Account, Dynamics automatically sends an email to the contact in the Lead from our support team and NOT the person converting the lead.  Make sense?  Do i set it up in the template or in the workflow?

Ah. The template itself doesn't allow for you to specifiy who it comes from, by default this would be the user sending the email, or the user who created the workflow. You would need to specify who it is from in the workflow.

Hmmm.  ok...I think I got everything straight except for the sending TO part.  In the workflow, I have it sending to {Primary Contact(Customer (Account))} but it doesnt seem to be sending to teh email address on the lead.  Do you know the field that I can send to on the Lead?  I cant seem to find it (it doesnt show the Email field).  
thoughts?

You can either try sending it to the {Lead(Originating Lead(Lead))} or you should perhaps be creating the workflow on the contact that gets created from the lead process instead of the account.
