Environment:
- Windows Server 2003
- Microsoft Dynamics 6.5/7.0
- Microsoft SQL 2000/2005
- T1 point-to-point
Question
We are acquiring a company that is using Microsoft Dynamics SL. The Dynamics box will be hosted at our headquarters, 30 miles away from where half the users will be accessing it, the warehouse.
Their IT guy said that they will need Citrix to access Dynamics from the warehouse, because the T1 point-to-point connection is not fast enough.
Is there any validity to this? Does the program do such heavy database calls that it would potentially clog the point-to-point and make usability minimal? If so, what connection would we need?
I am trying to stay away from Citrix, as it is not the cheapest thing out there? Are there any other solutions?
Thank you.
