Microsoft CRM 3.0 to 4.0 Upgrade Issues

Asked by leeym in Microsoft Dynamics, Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server 2005

I just successfully upgraded from v3.0 to 4.0, and was able to install the CRM 4.0 Connection for SSRC on the stanadalone SQL Server 2005 box. However, now I'm not able to access the CRM web site internally (http://crm) or externally (http://crm.domain.com). The web site was previously listening on port 80.

FYI, when I upgraded, I specified the domain admin as the Security Account, as opposed to domain\CRMAdmin which was created when we installed v3.0. I tried changing the 'logon as' rights for the CRM Asynchronous Processing service on the CRM box to CRMAdmin, but this didn't work. I also added the domain admin account to the CRM created AD 'PrivUserGroup' group but it didn't fix the problem either. The problem may have to do with configuring IFD as well.

The error we get from inside or outside via IE is 'HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied'
