I am trying to get Peachtree 2007 to work in a Terminal Server / Citrix environment and am having difficulties keeping it working. Peachtree has stated that they do not OFFICIALLY support their application in a terminal server / Citrix environment, although this was their stance on the 2004 version, and we got THAT to work on Citrix. Here's the situation:
1. Default installation causes a Pervasive SQL database manager to start up with every users session; the server only needs and supports ONE of these. On a workstation installtion, this runs with each user's login.
2. The database client manager was adjusted to only run ONCE on the server.
3. After installation, the program will WORK FOR ALL USERS! But it will stop working the next day. Sometimes, the installation will stay working for the administrator user, but NOT every time. Reinstallation of the program will resolve this, but only for (1) day.
4. When it fails, the executable that starts PEACHTREE (PEACHW.EXE) fails to run, and doesn't give any error message, nor does it stay in TASK MANAGER as a running process.
The following is true of our environment:
- The Citrix version is "Access Essentials v1.5"
- The Server version is Windows 2003 (NOT R2) running serice pack 2.
- The data folder does NOT live on the Citrix server, it lives on another server that clients get a mapped drive to.
- The server that holds the data for the Peachtree application is running the database manager for the network, and NOT the Peachtree Application (typical data server integration, as specified by Peachtree).
- All of the PC WORKSTATIONS that run Peachtree have NO ISSUES; this issue is STRICTLY RELATED to Citrix / Terminal Server
Any help is appreciated.
