I am searching for a product along the same lines as MS Money and Quicken for use in the ***UK***, the only absolute requirement is that it can automatically update account details by automatically downloading statements etc. Egg have the Egg Money Manager (EMM) online that pretty much does this int hat it logs in and retrieves details using screen scraping, but does not do the accounting Quicken as Money do. So in short, does any software work with UK Banks without manually downloading OFX/QIF files and importing them?
I think Money 2007 does a lot of this but I have not seen any plans to release a UK verison.

i'm an Egg customer, and I have thus far avoided their Money Manager, simply because I don't like it, and it is NOT regulated/approved by the FSA EMM is an aggregation service - and there are a few others who have used it, but it's not taken off in a big way in the UK (Citibank launched theirs before Egg, in 2001)
Your original question though pertains to statements (ie full details of all transactions over any given time period). AFAIK , no current account aggregation services will offer this - and primarily for similar reasons I outlined in my first post. Screen scraping statement details would be a minor miracle, given the vast range of layouts the banks choose for presenting the data, and how would you choose a date range? I bank with First Direct and HSBC (both are HSBC) and they vary quite substantially in the way info is presented.
I doubt that anyone would come up with an app to do just that, because if one of the banks decided on a rewrite of their online banking pages - your app would also require an update.....too many variables.

AFAIK, there are no applications that do this.
I've thought about this too - and it's annoying, especially when you bank with several different banks, and have to log in to each one,view and download statements, then import this....tiresome.
However, on reflection, IF there was an app to do all that - I would be worried. The banks are putting more and more controls over access to information online, so i see this as a remote possibilty unless we have some kind of secure tunnelling to transfer the data OR the statement data is pushed from the banks' side to your client PC.
