thanks, that's not bad, but I wait to see if someone comes up with a more precise solution.

I'll soon have the possibility to access a Bloomberg data terminal and want to prepare for that since I've never worked with one.
Among other things, I need to pull Credit Default Swap (CDS) price time series data for companies in the US and in Europe.
1. Could you sketch how (with what commands) I would best do that?
2. How is the downloaded data saved (txt file on the terminal?) and how do I transfer the data to a USB stick or something similar?
3. any other things I should be aware of?
Best regards
Rob

The Official Bloomberg Basic Manual is available on line here:

ok, that's looks like an even better manual.
but maybe there is somebody out there who is used to bloomberg and can write down the relevant commands in simple steps.
I need to know
(a) how to output all companies for which CDS time series exist in Bloomberg
(b) how to download time series for each of these companies and
(c) how to save the result on a usb stick.
I haven't found the solution in any of those manuals (though they were helpful otherwise), but Bloomberg help chat kindly helped me:
You have to use the command WCDS in Bloomberg do queries about all CDS they have; you can select CDS country-wise or by maturities, for example.
Once you end up with a table containing the desired CDS, you have to copy the CDS ticker codes from Bloomberg to an Excel sheet. There is a special tool for that at the upper right corner of the table, and you have to copy the tickers of all the pages seperately (page by page).
Then, you can use the "import data" wizard to download the time series corresponding to all these tickers.
