Cannot connect workstation to server after making network changes
Tags: Intuit, Quickbooks Point of Sale, 5.0 R11
We were called out to check a Quickbooks POS system that was installed by an unknown party.  After noting the network was not correctly setup.  We changed the workgroupd names to match and restarted the workstations and server. ( the server is a windows 2000 Professional workstation as is the POS terminal system. We had not thought to check the shares before making th4e changesd and now we can not connect the workstation to the database.  We hope someone may know where we can find the settings that are expected by the Workstation for the database share.  I am hoping there is a file somewhere we can examine to determine how and where we need to setup the share to get the station back online before morning.  Client needs the POS terminal back up before 10 AM

I did not explain that the main problem is also that when running the program from the workstation it states it cannot connect to the database or has a network problewm but it doesnot give any opportunity to access a screen or metthod to browse to the database so it can be opened.  Can not "open" a new or existing company.  Also it states the data base was updated at one point but gave no option to bring the workstation up to date to the data base etc. How do I get the options to choose a company file and where do I install any updates?

Problem did turn out to be some poor wiring between the workstaion and the server/workstation system.  Replaced the lines and seem to resolve the issue.
