Anybody know if or have tried Quickbooks 2008 Pro on a Windows 2008 Server Std and used it with Terminal Server?
From what I found on Intuit's web site they say "Windows Server 2008 and Linux (Suse 10.2, Fedora 6) are supported when using an Enterprise Solutions Database server only installation."
What they are talking about is "Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions 8.0" which costs $3000 - $9000 ! ! !
I know that Quickbooks 2008 Pro works in WIndows Server 2003 and 2003 R2 32-bit and 64-bit with terminal server becuase I've already done that in the past but wondering about 2008 Server.
Any additional web sites or links to show what others did or couldn't do would be helpful.

Being familiar with NT, 2000, 2003, and 2003 RS server dealing with any quickbooks version at times in a server environment can be challenging. I know that Intuit never supports a server enviroment even though they say it can work. When I called this week 3 times each time they had a tech call me back any they all said I don't know if Pro 2008 works on a Server 2008 but you can try it.

Just curious why you are not using 64-bit Server 2008? If you ever wanted to use Exchange Server 2007 it only comes in a 64-bit version. A few other upcoming Microsoft Server based apps will be 64-bit only. Maybe you have two servers, one 32-bit and one 64-bit. Maybe you don't have a need for the other apps that only run on 64-bit.

That isn't a solution!
"Mine works - I don't know why yours doesn't" isn't a solution. It indicates that it's possible, but leads one to think that the solution is a 32-bit install of 2008 - which is NOT relevant.

Moderators - there are so many of these on here. Is there that much pressure to close the "case" ? I think the person asking the question is the person who awards to "points" or indicates the correct answer. There should be a review or dispute process to ensure that questions are tuly answered with relevant answers. And a rating of 9.1?? Are we all so... callous or did everyone move their data to a hosting provider? Geez!

Interesting to see someone disagreeing on how a thread was handled 7 months after points have been awarded and 8 months after the thread was posted. Nobody said "Mine works - I don't know why yours doesn't". The other thread you point to is only 5 weeks old. 8 months ago I could not find any thread related to my question so I posted this one. The moderators can certainly check into this thread and my account as well as Glo-Networks (Chris) account. I don't know anything about Chris other than he kindly commented on my thread.

If it works on 2003 server, the chances are it will work on Server 2008. If you have a vista machine near by, and are able to install and get it running on that, it would probably work on the server 2008 machine. I don't think they'd prevent you from using quickbooks 2008 PRO explicitly on server 2008, when it's allowed on server 2003.
