Browse All TopicsHi,
I am Totaly unfamiliar with QB Network installation.
All I know is the PC/Server HAD Malware but is NOW clean
I can't start the "QuickBooksDB18" service with "QBDataServiceUser18" USER
and can't start "QBPOS Database Manager v7" service with "QBPOSDBSrvUser" USER
Just NEED to verify if I can simply change the PASSWORDS for the two QB USER accts
or is there some sort of DEFAULT PASSWORD that I need to verify is set correctly .
Thank you

Thanks. The QuickBooks Server Manager is right on the CD you got from QuickBooks. Allow the CD to start the setup process, pick the Server Manager Only selection and that is all that will install. If there is only two initial modes (Expert and one other) then pick Expert and then pick Server Manager Only. I am going from memory here. ... Thinkpads_User

You can start and stop the QB DB services (needed for the Server Manager) without altering the QB User Accounts. I confess I have not done any research to see why they are there (same category as VMware User Account), but I have never had to manage or alter them. You may not have gotten rid of all the malware (very difficult to do normally). What happens if you uninstall, restart and reinstall the QB Server Manager? I would not tamper with these accounts if you are unfamiliar with QB.
