How do I access several years of financial data stored in a QDF file when I can't open Quicken?

Asked by moving_once_more in Quicken Financial Software, Delphi Programming

Tags: Intuit, Quicken, XG

I have used Quicken XG (UK version) for the last five years to do my personal finances. I now have a very large amount of information stored in the Quicken Data File (qdf) that is not available elsewhere (I have back ups of the file, but they are no use if the program doesn't work).
I have just replaced the hard drive in my laptop and Intuit have consequently stopped me re-activating the product. On calling their support number, I have been told that the product is no longer supported and that the only way I can get at my data is to spend 300 pounds on QuickBooks accounting software which I have no need for.
Quicken XG is configured such that the program cannot be started without the product being activated, so Intuit have effectively turned off my software leaving me no access to all my personal financial data.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might access my data?
FYI, I also have a Canadian version of Quicken XG 2004 - this still functions, but does not support data files from the UK version.Start Free Trial
