The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

LabVIEW Web server Question...

Tags: National instruments, LabView, 8.0, Web server
Hello Experts,

I hope one of you can program LabVIEW and help me with these problem:

I configured and stablished a WEB server with Labview ( easy one), as you may now it can display a Virtual instrument so everyone can see it, but the issue is that i cant make it to display several SubVi's that the main panel calls.
Example i use a Login user dialog , and when i run it on the server i can see it, but the remote panels cant. My only guess is that i must some how include that subVI on the HTML code so i can use it, but i dont know exactly how

I'll see what I can do here, I have experience in programming in LabView, but none yet in making controls available online.

Still, I believe that just because of the way Labview is object oriented with a sort of "black box" tool design, it may not allow you to open and control a whole bunch of sub-vi's with the simple view of the server. If you can link me to what you have up, I might be able to offer some more insight, but otherwise, I would say a good work around if you wish to have control over the sub-vi's is to either make your program monolithic - and include the contents of your sub-vi's all in your back panel, or else add several controls to your front panel for messing around with the sub-vi's. If all you want is to allow the user to view the sub-vi's, then maybe you can settle for screenshots?

The program that i am trying to do is to have a front panel, say "main.vi" and the with a button click display another dialog, i have made this in my computer but not on a web server because it doesnt show the other VI.
Look, all i want it to do is to display another panel, like when programming in DELPHI you put ShowModal(). So i have already done that in LabView with just creating Sub-Vi's that are called from the Main.Vi, but when running a web server i know there must be a way to include those VI in the web server but i am not aware of that option.

What i noticed in these forums is that there is not a development area for LabView, like Ni.forum or LAva.com. But i posted this question to try out the webpage.

I'm not aware of that option either. If you can't find such an option, then I believe the only think you can do is integrate your pop up sub-vi's into the main.vi front panel.

Yes, that is the solution, i found a post in NI Forum looking with keywords like "Web server subvis" it talks about that
