Cannot connect workstation to server after making network changes

We were called out to check a Quickbooks POS system that was installed by an unknown party.  After noting the network was not correctly setup.  We changed the workgroupd names to match and restarted the workstations and server. ( the server is a windows 2000 Professional workstation as is the POS terminal system. We had not thought to check the shares before making th4e changesd and now we can not connect the workstation to the database.  We hope someone may know where we can find the settings that are expected by the Workstation for the database share.  I am hoping there is a file somewhere we can examine to determine how and where we need to setup the share to get the station back online before morning.  Client needs the POS terminal back up before 10 AMStart Free Trial
