I tried to uninstall because I first exited AVG before I ran Combofix but I got a message from Combofix saying that AVG was still running. I tried to stop the AVG processes but they came right back up so then after a reboot I tried to uninstall and this is when I got the error message. I am thinking that maybe it is beause that some of the virus's where in the AVG folder and program. Just a guess.

1. The installation issue was caused by insufficient rights.
You are not logged under "full" admin account or you just dont have access to the part of registry
Registry access can be fixed with this:

2. Infection - Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net/), initial scan should dislay it the rootkit. If not, run scan and the remove it (disable service on detected entry), restart, re-scan. Done.

Hi bbbb2,
r.com/comb ofix/how-t o-use-comb ofix
Run a temporary file remover...CCleaner is a good one and it's free.
http://www.ccleaner.com/
Then run Combofix, before running Combofix, temporary disable any firewall(s) shield(s) ect...to prevent any conflicts with Combofix. After Combofix is done scanning, it will create a log, for futher instructions, save and paste the results by Attach File, or by Code Snippet so we can take a look at it. Once after the log looks clean, you can enable your firewall(s) shield(s) ect. Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet. Your Internet connection will be automatically restored just before Combofix completes its scan. If Combofix runs into problems, your Internet connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.
Please note: Don't run Combofix in Safe Mode.
