I agree there is only 1 known viruse to mac last I knew. I would contact the company that makes your antivirs software and see what they tell you. I sounds like a probelm with there software.

"Error 13 is a permission error. Its been discussed man times here on the forum. Basically Avast does not have permission to scan the file (it does not have read access). This is normal. Some system files will return this. Also if you have more than one user on your Mac you will most likely get the error for their files as your don't have access to them.
In the next release of Avast for Mac these warnings will be suppressed, because many users thing that warning = infection"
Great list of Avast Error codes and Mac System Error codes here.

eoinosullivan,
Thank you for the comment.
This is my first time at trying 'Cleanup' and I have managed to get a couple wrong.
When the Administrator comes through, he can do a 'split' with:

I've done about 600 abandoned questions in the past couple of days, so please feel free to comment when you find I've gotten one wrong.

I doubt your mac is infected (there are virtually NO viruses or spyware for OSX out there) but you may have damaged files or specific files that Avast cannot scan properly on the Mac.
1. Email Avast detailing the files and the error and they should be able to tell you if the files are really infected
2. On the Mac - run Disk Utility and REPAIR all file permissions.
