We are running McAfee 8.5 Patch 7 clients, with EPO 4.0
Some of our machines are alerting on the following "virus":
Artemis! [string of numbers/text]
From reading the internet, it's not entirely clear what this is. Some say it's McAfee's new scanning engine, others say there is a way to get rid of it.
I was hoping a resident McAfee expert could confirm!
Cheers

I found a few references to the W32/Conficker worm - http://www.google.com/sear
Please check if it is not a false positive for W32/Conficker itself.
Artemis seems to be like a heuristic scanning algorithm. This technology is actually designed to scan files and determine if they display virus-like behaviour. If you're not sure about a file that McAfee has flagged, upload it to www.virustotal.com for a checkup. Let us know, how many scanners flag it as a virus.
Hope it helps.
