Hi Mike,
I ran a comparison of admin permissions and it looks the same. This is a brand new domain with two controllers and 4 domain members.
It is a setup for a new domain as the old one is a bit crufty having been upgraded since the days of nt4.
I have a call in with macafee support but i am not holding my breath.
It is obviously a windows permission problem but i just can not see where.
I even changed the 2008 network mode so computers are browsable thinking that might haave been inhibiting it.
If i set up a new 2003 domain it works straight off the bat.
I might setup a new 2008 domain just in case something in the other domain is funky.

I would suggest double-checking the admin credentials of the other domain to be on the safe side - though you've probably already done this a few times. Have you tried specifying credentials using the DOMAINNAME\Username format in the username field?
Otherwise, it might suggest some type of AD communication issue. I would make sure all of your DC's are synch'ing. Upon that, I would contact Mcafee Support - they could probably get you an answer fairly quickly.
Hope this helps...
Mike
