Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Best free firewall

I am planning to install a good "free" firewall.But I am confused as to which to install.Since I am looking for a free firewall the two options I can think of
1.Sygate Personal Firewall
2.Zonealarm
           I tried to find info about these from different websites.But each one of them has a different opinion.
           Zonealarm has got a good record but there are also user opinions about frequent crashes.
