Computer Keeps shuting down even after formating

I run:
Windows XP Pro
AMD 1800+
Nortan Antivirus 2002

My computer hardware is not over heating.

I could format my computer and do a clean deletion of everything and even reset the CMOS(taking out the bios battery) and reinstall Windows XP.

YET my computer will just turn off without warning or blue screen sometimes without warning, I could be doing anything. I also can get the blue screen doing the IRQL_equal_or_less and others right when Im doing a clean Windows XP install, reseting the install, taking up my time and patience. I even got 12 windows errors right after installing windows, and I reformated and installed windows 6 times. I am formating and installing (NTFS) probably has nothing to do with it because its my only option, just thought i might add that.

Anyhow, these windows errors and blue screens and just restarting the computer without warning are all extremely random.
