I stick with NIS because they have very up-to-date and comprehensive risk database. F-secure looks nice since they have separate products for mobile laptops and smartphones. There Deepguard technology is something I believe down not exist in Norton.
I would never go back to McAffee though.
You want to look at Panda and Trendmicro.
I have always had good support with Norton, but any program that has to integrate into the heart of Windows like a Antivirus and Firewall have to are bond to have problems

I haven't tried F-Secure, but I personally shifted from and staying away from Symantec.
Symantec seems to be a resource hog for me, and I've heard users having problems with Symantec products and not having any support.
You can try reading these reviews, hopefully it will give some light.
