Trouble installing AdAware 2007 on Windows XP - "not a valid Win32 application"

I downloaded the free version of AdAware 2007. It's the file aaw2007.exe and it's 17,213 KB in size. When I click on the file to install it, I immediately get an error that it is not a valid Win32 application.
I've re-downloaded several times with the same problem.
I've downloaded (several times) on a different pc that I know is free of spyware, adware and viruses and I have the same problem.
