AVG 8.0 Free won't install after parasite cleanup

Local machine: installation failed
    Installation:
        Error: Action failed for file avgmfx86.sys: starting service....
            Error 0x80070002

Time after time this is what results after nearly the entire install process finishes.
I'd very much like to get around this problem and get a free antivirus program installed.
