Browse All TopicsHello,
I am trying to setup Trend Micro Worry Free Virus Scan. I can do it by the book with out a problem. However, I want the laptop and home users to be able to report back to the server without having to make a VPN connection to the network.
- I have punched the following ports through the firewall: 80, 443, 4343, 8059 and 45288.
- The web console works, but the install process from the webpage passes the internal IP instead of the WAN IP if I try to install the client from the webpage.
Question 1: Has anyone tried this before?
Question 2: Do the clients communciate through just the ports list above, or do they talk through a UNC path?
Question 3: Would using a name instead of IP work? I thought of using a name instead of IP, but I did not know if the server/client is talking via UNC or ports.
Thank you,
Michael

PS: I know I can have my internal DNS resolve the name to the LAN IP and have godaddys DNS servers resolve the WAN IP. I just do not know if this is the only reason that I am getting the "can not reach server" error when I try and install the client via the console web page.
The thing that is throwing me off is a UNC reference in the ini file.
Thank you Again,
Michael
