Hi yasserd,
Disable autoprotect does not stop rtvscan.exe. Msconfig does not show rtvscan as an option under startup.

When we are using VPC we are not connected to the internet or network so we do not need Symantec Antivirus. How can I turn it off? I have tried disabling and rebooting but rtvscan.exe is still there.

Hi,
RTVSCAN is the the process that does a real time scanning of files. Try disabling real time scanning by right clicking the antivirus taskbar icon and choosing disable real time.
You may also go to "Run" and type msconfig then choose startup and uncheck rtvscan.
