I cannot login even after numerous reinstallation.

I have installed Symantec Endpoint Protection v. 11.0 on a server, and clients have gotten set up with the protection as well.  The problem is, I have not been able to log into Manager Console, even after uninstalling and reinstalling several times, going through and setting password over and over.
When the installation finishes normally, I exit, and I no longer can get back in.  The error I get is authentication failure.
The weird thing is, the clients and server seem happily existing with the Symantec Protection.  I only need to get into the Manager Console so I can upgrade it to MR1.
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?  It seems like a relatively simple task, but I cannot seem to figure it out.
