Dear All

My entire organization is currently using SEP11 as our main AV and we come to facing some prblem which we never encounter before this version of AV. Previously we are using SAV 10.2 for the past few years.

The problems are as below:

1. Client machine appear to be many temp folder (5MB each) in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs folder which could take up to 5GB to 20GB of the disk space. This would easily affect the storage of the workstation. Q: Can we delete this manually or it will auto do it? What is this folder means? Not all client encounter the similar thing.

2. Some of client after installation restart, therer is a execution file by the name of mdefbuilder25 took up to 100% of the CPU usage and thus cause the client machine to hang.

3. Related to the above matter, i used to uninstall the SEP from the client and then install a fresh copy. Some of the uninstallation process would crash and result we need to use the Symantec removing tools to remove the entire file from the machine and may took up to 5 to 8 hours process.

We have around 50 user in the building.Start Free Trial
