I researched and found the suggestion for clearing cache in the security center console. When I click 'clear cache now', I am getting the waring saying that this will remove all server groups from the console, and rebuild all information from scatch, are you sure you wish to discard all cache information? I am not sure it's safe to clear the cache and how the system rebuild the information. Please advise.

i have had this problem twice in 3 years. and here is what i found.
1. problem During my first troubleshooting i force the removal of the software running on the client using cleanwipe download it from here http://www.experts-exchang
2. A sav client running win2k kept showing up as out of sync even after reinstalling the software. Found out the internal motherboard battery needed to be replaced. I was running net time so the time would sync out matically thats why i was not able to see this until i restarted the computer and went into the bios then noticed the date and time had changed. I replaced the battery then resinstall the sav client and the problem went away.
I tried cleanwipe and got a blue screen with an error saying the problem caused by the file SYMTDY.SYS.
I also noticed the time was off 5 days on the pc and adjusted the date and time. Then, I reinstalled the Symantec Antivirus Client 10.1.5 and out of sync error is gone and the definition is updated. However, I cannot install the LiveUpdate on the pc. There is no LiveUpdate in Add and Remove Programs. Then, I clicked the LiveUpdate button, I got a message saying that LU1803: LIveUpdate failed while getting your updates, Live Update had and internal error while getting your updates your Symantec programs were not updated; your should try getting updates at a later time. If Liveupdate fails again with this error, re-install LiveUpdate. I don't know why I cannot install the LiveUpdate although I can install Symantec Antivirus software.
