I would manually run LiveUpdate too - there may have been a problem downloading / processing an update.

Jut out of curiosity - do you find that Symantec Mail Security does a good job for you in terms of spam?
Also - does it cost you more than £200 per year to renew your license + the Premium Anti-Spam?
Reason for asking is I switched to an alternative, cheaper, easier to configure product which results in much less spam (for me and many of my customers). Not trying to sell anything, but just curious.
when i joined the company 2 years ago symantec was already in place, they were using version 4.5 and i updated it to version 6, also updated the enpoint protection.
Last year we tried a free trial of the antispam and saw a drop in spam by at least 90%, i put some rules in place to throw a 2 words in the subject if they picked anything form a list then created a rule on everybody pc to throw it into their junk mail when it came in, my boss wanted to make sure nothing got deleted as it was comming in with being configured with smtp and not pop3.
just paid £925 for the endpoint/mail exchange and the antispam (all 3 in 1 license now)
the main issue i have at the moment is im getting mails comming saying "mail delivery system"
example -

took out out email and domain
very annoying at the moment, noticed these errors on the symantec so want to eliminate symantec
Forget that - checking the sending IP proves that it is spam:
http://www.mxtoolbox.
It's a shame you just renewed. Can you get a refund for the license for Symantec Mail Security? I have installed Vamsoft ORF which is brilliant for killing my spam. Down from 5-6 a week to 6 in two months. www.vamsoft.com
It works so much better that Symantec and I have now removed Symantec from many of my clients as it was causing their Exchange servers to regularly go awol, which one removed, has not happened since.
all these logs have stopped
3 Nov 2009 08:55:50 (WARNING:4464.4560): [27115] read_spamwall_config: //totalProfiling missing settings.
3 Nov 2009 09:02:44 (WARNING:4464.4560): [27115] read_spamwall_config: //totalProfiling missing settings.
3 Nov 2009 09:11:10 (WARNING:4464.4560): [27115] read_spamwall_config: //totalProfiling missing settings.
Okay - that would explain the second set of errors:
2 Nov 2009 20:11:31 (ERROR:7164.4612): [10026] Unable to remove directory C:\Program Files\Symantec\SMSMSE\6.0\
2 Nov 2009 20:11:31 (ERROR:7164.4612): [12063] Cannot process 'BrightSig3 Rules'.
2 Nov 2009 20:14:28 (ERROR:7164.4612): [12093] Unable to process rule set.
2 Nov 2009 20:14:28 (ERROR:7164.4612): [12052] Unable to parse message.
2 Nov 2009 20:14:28 (ERROR:7164.4612): [12063] Cannot process 'BrightSig3 Rules'.
might be better removing the threat protection, will it just be on the server that the symantec exchange is installed that will need changing or the other server aswell with the endpoint manager installed on.
ive got to be careful if i decide to uninstall, cant afford to be restrating the server, you know if it will need restarting to change the settings?
thanks
sorry ive not got back to you before now, was watching the emails yesterday and only had a few of those thru. no more symantec errors have been logged so far either. Ive not changed the endpoint yet.
i made a post on the symantec site the same time i started this post and 1 suggestion for the port 443 was to try going to this site on the exchange server
https://aztec.brightmail.c
i got "ok" so looks like it can communicate

Please refer to the following Symantec Article - which says you can safely ignore these messages, but if you would rather they not appear, there is a solution suggested:
